For years I sold my DIY wooden toys on Etsy, but now I’m excited to be share with others how I made some of my most popular toy crafts.

This little bowling pin wooden toy set is not only a great project to do with kids, but it also makes for a very creative and unique gift for special occasions and birthdays. I promise that if you show up to a party with this little set, everyone will want to know how you made it.

DIY Painted Wooden Bowling Set

SUPPLIES (affiliate links are provided for your convenience):

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Wrap a piece of washi tape around the center of each bowling pin. You can put them side-by-side to ensure the tape is in the same place on each.DIY Painted Wooden Toy Bowling Set
  2. With your first color paint paint just above the washi tape.DIY Wooden Toy Bowling Set
  3. Next take the same paint and lighten it by adding a small amount of white. With the lightened color paint just below the washi tape.DIY Painted Wooden Toy Bowling Set
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all of the bowling pins.

  6. Once the paint has completely dried you can remove the washi tape.DIY Painted Wooden Toy Bowling Set
  7. Seal your finished DIY toy bowling set with a spray sealant to prevent chipping and fading.
