How To Make Skull Bouquets

  • First, place your skull planter on your workspace. This craft isn’t messy, but it’s always a good idea to set out an old tablecloth that you can just throw in the wash in case.
  • Next, take a piece of wet floral foam and cut it to size, carefully layering the inside of the fake skull. Layer the bottom of the skull with glue and carefully push the foam into place. Let dry for 10-15 minutes. (This will keep the foam in place so when you add in the flowers they won’t fall out or move around.)
  • While letting the foam dry, cut the ends of the flowers to where they’re long enough to fit into the foam but not so long that they’ll stick out. (How short to cut the flowers will depend entirely on the size of skull you use.)
  • After the glue has dried, gently take your favorite flowers and push them into the wet foam. You can use any type of flower you want, just mix it up!

(Tip: Be sure to arrange the flowers so that no holes in the arrangement are showing. The fuller the bouquet, the better!)

What type of flowers should I add to my halloween bouquet?

Flowers to make your Halloween bouquet stand out

For these Halloween custom designs, dahlias, roses, dried mums, mums and eucalyptus leaves were used.  You could use any of your favorite flowers though to create an arrangement.

Add some succulents

If you want a halloween centerpiece that will be long lasting and easy to care for, consider adding succulents to your arrangement. You could even use a smaller skull or a vase and give the flowers away as gifts or use for decor at  Halloween parties.

More sweet and less spooky!

If you want an arrangement that still works after October 31st, try using a ceramic pumpkin instead of a skull. You can also paint your skull in bright colors to make it a little brighter and happier.

Takeaway

If you’re looking for a fun twist on a classic Halloween decoration, these floral arrangements definitely add some halloween spirit. They also make for a perfect gift or table arrangement.

This mess-free craft is also a great afternoon activity to do with your kiddos. Go to your local craft store and let your kids pick out their own flowers. It’s a fun way to unleash their creativity while decorating your house for the holiday!
