I’ve seen bottle cap stamps and cork stamps, but how about rocks stamps? Go to Google Images and you’ll find Elvis, John Lennon, Ozzy Osborn, and a bunch of other “rock” legends on the front of postage stamps, but nothing like these stamps. I can’t believe that rocks stamps aren’t all over Pinterest. They’re easy as can be to make and so much fun to use. They look pretty cool too!

Here’s a card that took me all of about 2 minutes to make. And that includes making my rock stamps. I can’t wait for my son to try these out. What kid doesn’t love rocks?
Here’s what you need:
Rocks – If you can’t find them outside, look at the craft store or the Dollar Store.
Foam stickers – The Dollar Store and Craftprojectideas.com (stickers available at Walmart), are great places to find foam stickers. You can also glue foam shapes to the rock. For letters and numbers you’ll need to attach them backwards to stamp correctly.
Stamp pad or paint – My absolute favorite stamps pads (shown in my first pic) are these by ColorBox. I love that they come with a variety of colors, and you can just remove the color you want to use. The ink is always vibrant. You could also use paint, although it might be a bit messier.
These rocks don’t have to just be for stamping. Here’s how we use them when we go out to eat. I cut out foam circles had Jake use the rocks for a fun color matching game. They would also be great for storytelling. And there you have it. A simple, cheap, lovable craft that kids will adore.
With Father’s Day coming up, I thought it would be fun to make a handmade Father’s Day Gift instead of just buying one this year. I always love the thought and effort behind handmade gifts and this is a great gift to give any dad for Father’s Day. You could even do this Father’s Day…
There are so many fun ways to paint rocks. One of my favorite rock painting techniques is to cover the entire rock with a painted rock design. For this camper painted rock tutorial I used paint pens as they are easy to control and work with for a detailed rock painting design. Below I put the…
The pictures of my rock doodles are some of my most popular pictures on my Instagram page. The first question I get asked is where do I find such smooth rocks? I’m lucky enough to live near a beach filled with them, but if you’re having trouble finding your own, I see some places below…
I’m making a treasure box for my son, and I wanted to make my own gem treasures to decorate the box with and put inside as a surprise. As it turns out, these glitter gems also make great magnets. This is the post that I found for inspiration. (This post contains affiliate links to…
I love having lots of pencil pouches on hand for all of my art supplies. Pencil pouches also come in handy when traveling…even if it’s just going out to backyard to do some art. I made these fun pencil pouches before but this time I wanted to make a galaxy painted pencil pouch. Make This…
I love that something as natural as a rock can been turned into something magical with just a little paint. Story stones and painted rocks are a great way to foster storytelling, creative play and conversations with your child. I started my stone painting with a set just like this rainbow train set. My son…
