Pressed flower resin coasters are one of the easiest ways to turn simple wooden blanks into something beautiful and functional. This DIY project looks impressive, but it is surprisingly simple to make.

You do not need to press your own flowers for this project. I’ve listed where to buy beautiful pressed flowers below so you can make these resin flower coasters without any extra prep.

Step-by-Step: How to Make Resin Coasters with Pressed Flowers

1. Lay out your pressed flowers first

Before gluing anything down, spread your flowers out so you can see your options. This makes it easier to balance colors and mix larger blooms with smaller filler pieces. Seeing everything at once helps you design with intention.

2. Glue flowers down in sections

Brush a thin layer of Mod Podge onto one section of the wooden coaster. Immediately place your flowers while it is still tacky. Work in small sections so the glue does not dry before you place your flowers. This step prevents shifting when you add resin

3. Overlap flowers and fill in gaps

Let the flowers overlap a little as you add them to the coaster. This helps everything feel connected and it also fills in gaps without needing a lot of tiny pieces. Do not stress about making it perfect.

4. Let everything dry completely

Once your design is finished, allow the Mod Podge to dry fully.

5. Add a thin layer of UV resin

Apply an even layer of UV resin over the inside of the coaster. Use a disposable paintbrush to gently spread the resin and fully seal the flowers. Make sure to coat all the way to the edges for a smooth finish.

6. Cure under a UV lamp

Place the coaster under your UV lamp to cure. Mine cured in 5 minutes. Once cured, your pressed flower resin coaster will have a glossy, sealed finish that protects the design and makes it functional for everyday use.

Pressed flower resin coasters are proof that DIY resin projects do not have to be complicated to look high-end. With just a few flowers and a thin layer of resin, you can create handmade wooden coasters that feel personal and unique.
