Create beautiful autumn decor with this simple DIY pressed flower pumpkin tutorial. Perfect for adding a touch of nature to your home this fall. What I love about making pressed flower pumpkins is that there are so many different ways to decorate them. While you may see that most people just add flowers at random all over their pumpkins, one of my favorite techniques is to add the flowers in a shape to create a piece of art.

The best part of making this pumpkin fall decor craft is that you don’t have to press your own flowers. I purchase mine from Amazon in order to get a large variety of colors and shapes. If you want to press flowers of your own, see my post How to Press Flowers.
Supplies
- Pressed Flowers – Pressed flowers by specific color or bulk pressed flowers
- Pumpkins – I preferred to use faux white pumpkins
- Mod Podge glue – I used matte mod podge
- Tweezers
- Paintbrush or foam brush
- Butterfly stickers
- Rhinestone Glue
- Rhinestones – I used 4MM size rhinestones
- Rhinestone Picker Tool
Instructions for Making Pressed Flower Pumpkins
Step 1. Set up all of the flowers and leaves in front of you so that you can clearly see all of your options. I also like to try out different color orders to see which color palette I like the best.

Step 2. Cut a heart shape out of paper and trace the outline onto the pumpkin using a pencil.

Step 3. Next, start in one area of the heart and add Mod Podge to the pumpkin using a foam brush or paintbrush.
Step 4. Add a few dried flowers at a time. Layer the flowers by adding Mod Podge on top of your flowers.

Step 5. Continue to add flowers within the heart outline until completely filled. You can also add additional embellishments, charms or stickers.

Step 6. Once you get most of the heart covered, go back and fill in the small areas that are still uncovered by cutting small pieces and petals from flowers.

Step 7. After the heart is completely covered with flowers, apply another thin layer of Mod Podge over the entire heart.
Step 8. Finally, add an outline of rhinestones to the outside of the heart. The outline will help define the shape of the heart. If you prefer a more natural style you can skip the rhinestones.

Customize Your Pressed Flower Pumpkin

- Test out unique color palettes or create an ombre color palette.
- Utilize other scrapbook materials to make your pumpkin look more like a scrapbook design.
- Incorporate old book pages or sheet music to the design.
