Mason Jars - How to Paint!

Since I’m obsessed with all things colorful and happy, I thought I’d add a personal twist to a plain Mason Jar by painting colored mason jars! Supplies!

– Mason jars, which you can pick up at your local craft store or Amazon – Spray Paint + Primer – Acrylic craft paint – I like this brand and this brand and this brand – Foam paint brushes – Paint Markers (Optional) – I love paint pens for face details and other designs but paint works well too. – Paintbrush – Any kind will work, but I’d suggest a small size for fine details – Sealant – I used Design Masters Clear Finish in Matte (clickable links in the swipe up!)

Step 1

Spray one or two coats of white primer.

Unscrew the lids from your Mason Jars and place them upside down on cardboard outside.

Let the first coat dry, then apply a second coat.

Using a foam paintbrush, paint the first coat of acrylic paint onto your Mason Jar
