The year we won Halloween was the year we went dressed as Christmas. Not only did people stop us throughout the night to take pictures, but we knocked out our Christmas card photo in October. Seriously going dressed in a Christmas theme for our family halloween costume idea was the best idea we ever had.
I’ve always loved Halloween, it’s actually my birthday so it was fun to go all out with our family halloween costumes. What really made the theme though was my awesome husband who played his part as “Buddy the Elf” from the movie “ELF” very well. He was in character the entire night…”I just like to smile. Smiling is my favorite.” I can’t tell you how many people stopped to take pictures with him. My son loved his costume because it was easy to still race around in and was comfortable. I feel like that’s key when finding a costumer for kids. Below are all of our costume details so you can recreate the same family halloween costume theme.

Here’s a little peek at our Christmas card from that year. On the back we wished all of a friends and family a “Merry Elfing Christmas.” Apparently that year we also won Christmas card season. If you want to be quite popular on Halloween and also at Christmas, I highly suggest a Christmas themed family Halloween costume.
