I’ve seen bottle cap stamps and cork stamps, but how about rocks stamps? Go to Google Images and you’ll find Elvis, John Lennon, Ozzy Osborn, and a bunch of other “rock” legends on the front of postage stamps, but nothing like these stamps. I can’t believe that rocks stamps aren’t all over Pinterest. They’re easy as can be to make and so much fun to use. They look pretty cool too!

Here’s a card that took me all of about 2 minutes to make. And that includes making my rock stamps. I can’t wait for my son to try these out. What kid doesn’t love rocks?
Here’s what you need:
Rocks – If you can’t find them outside, look at the craft store or the Dollar Store.
Foam stickers – The Dollar Store and Craftprojectideas.com (stickers available at Walmart), are great places to find foam stickers. You can also glue foam shapes to the rock. For letters and numbers you’ll need to attach them backwards to stamp correctly.
Stamp pad or paint – My absolute favorite stamps pads (shown in my first pic) are these by ColorBox. I love that they come with a variety of colors, and you can just remove the color you want to use. The ink is always vibrant. You could also use paint, although it might be a bit messier.
These rocks don’t have to just be for stamping. Here’s how we use them when we go out to eat. I cut out foam circles had Jake use the rocks for a fun color matching game. They would also be great for storytelling. And there you have it. A simple, cheap, lovable craft that kids will adore.
