It’s hard to write this post because I finally have to accept the fact that my 2-year old, who can now climb out of his crib is no longer a baby. It’s official, he is now a full blown, tantrum wielding, opinion having, but still cute as heck little boy. In honor of converting his crib into a toddler bed, I thought I’d post a few photos of his vintage inspired nursery since it was pre-blog.

My Baby’s Vintage Inspired Nursery

He’ll probably stay in this room for another year until we move him to a big boy room, which I already have lots of ideas for.  At the end of this post, I’ve included links to most items in the room. If there’s anything I missed that you’re interested in just leave me your questions in the comments section.

Vintage Meets Modern in This Nursery

I love walking into Jake’s room. It still remains my favorite room in the house. There’s something so completely peaceful and happy about his room. My goal was to give the room a vintage, yet modern feel.

Changing Table Corner

Baby change table corner of the nursery - there are some floating shelves and wall art
This is Jake’s least favorite spot in the room, the changing table! He hates having his diaper changed. Being in the 95th percentile for weight and height, he has completely outgrown the changing pad and is almost longer than the dresser. The only reason I still put him up there is so he can’t escape

DIY Name Wall Art

Name wall sign and vintage biplane mobile
Jake’s framed name was one of the first DIY projects I made for him. All I did was buy an inexpensive frame, paint it, remove the glass and mount painted paper craft letters against the wall with 3M strips.

Paper Airplane Wall Decals

Paper airplane wall decals
I must have known that my son was going to love planes. The paper plane vinyl decals were a perfect way to dress up our tall ceilings. And do you spot that cute robot on the clipboard? It was made by a very talented little girl. After I saw it on her mom’s blog, I knew I needed a print. You can see her original here.

Reading Corner in the Nursery

Comfortable chair inside the vintage inspired nursery with books on the wall
My favorite part of our reading corner is the fun green painting that is hung above the book shelf. It was actually painted by an elephant…yes an elephant…who apparently is quite the abstract artist. Don’t forget to look just above the chair. If you’re not a cyclist or married to one (like me), you probably don’t know that hanging from the J is a miniature cycling jersey. You seriously can find anything for kids these days!

Vintage Inspired Nursery Rug

Round woven rug
I hope Jake’s nursery was able to provide you with some inspiration for your own little boy or girl. Creating this room was such a joy and seeing Jake adore it completely fills my heart.
